Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep;
and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

When we are dedicating ourselves to slothfulness - which is a reluctance or lack of willingness to do anything - and pick up our phones to start the famous thumb workout on social media, we are casting ourselves into a deep sleep; a trance where the hours easily pass by, one after another.

The word idle in Hebrew means deceitful; so this idle state in itself is deceiving us into believing we are relaxing, resting or taking a break; but we are being spiritually misled away from Christ which then results in suffering hunger for Him.
